![]() ![]() ![]() I'm hoping for some sensible advice from you fellow Redditors regarding the following dilemma: to upgrade, to replace, or to wait out for the next generation MBP with Ivy Bridge CPUs, end of this year. There is also the occasional gaming (Left 4 Dead 2, and Diablo 3 in the future). Applications where I could definitely use some more power are Aperture, Photoshop, MacPar, and VMware. It runs Snow Leopard and most applications I frequently use, but with the more than occasional 'beach ball'. Yes, the battery has been replaced twice, and the Logic Board has fried, but it's literally been around the world with me and it's still alive and kicking. I have been happily using a mid-2007 Macbook Pro 3,1 (2.2GHz C2D, Santa Rosa, 2GB, 500GB HDD) for about 4 years now. ![]()
